The fifth Samui Summer Jazz Festival ran from 13 to 15 September 2024, with concerts at Six Senses Samui, W Koh Samui and SALA Samui Chaweng Beach.
The 2024 festival was the fifth Samui Summer Jazz Festival and it moved to September, after June in 2022 and May in 2023. The 2010 International Samui Jazz Festival, the forerunner, had also been held in September. The festival grew out of the Samui Jazz Series, a set of monthly jazz nights on the island, and it returned in 2022 after an eight-year gap.
The 2024 edition was a three-day weekend instead of the six-night weeks of the previous two years, with the music paired with dinner at each hotel. Fah Thai magazine covered it under the title 'Island Jazz Heats Up'. The festival was presented in 2022 by Skal International Koh Samui. Each hotel runs its own concert and dinner, so check the listing of the night you want to attend.
Shows the jazz festival running every year again after its 2022 revival.

Read moreLive music on Samui is spread across the evening bar strips rather than one venue. Chaweng Beach Road has bars with house bands playing rock, reggae and pop covers, plus a small jazz club. Lamai leans towards reggae and rock bands, and Bophut's Fisherman's Village suits a quieter drink with a singer or duo. Larger club nights bring in visiting international performers, usually announced a few weeks ahead on the club's own channels. Resorts also host jazz and beach concerts now and then. Most nights start late, so expect the main acts after 22:00.
